Simple Mode — Pay an Expense

Record a common business expense — like office rent — without touching debits or credits. Simple mode handles the accounting for you.

  1. Open Journal Entries

    Navigate to the Journal Entries page from the sidebar.

  2. Start a New Entry

    Click New Entry to open the journal entry form in simple mode.

  3. Choose a Template

    Select the Pay an Expense template — this pre-fills the entry type and guides you through the required fields.

  4. Fill in the Details

    Pick the expense account, the payment account, enter the amount, and add a description.

  5. Post the Entry

    Click Post Entry to save the transaction. LedgerBuk automatically creates the double-entry behind the scenes.

  6. Verify in the Entries List

    The new journal entry appears in the list with its reference number and the amount you posted.
